In a meeting with congress, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke asked congress to get serious about the federal deficit because America is on an "unsustainable fiscal path". He stated it will become unsustainable in 15 or 20 years "...unless financial markets lose confidence in U.S. policymakers before that".

I believe that we need to fix how the government spends money all together because yes the deficit is important but because of all the focus on that some programs might get cut like social security.
